MARISA FACTOR ANDREWS
Professional Hair and Makeup Artist
Marisa’s curiosity for hair and makeup started at an early age. As a young girl, Marisa and her sisters would order boxes of makeup from their uncles, the founders of Smashbox Cosmetics, and receive packages in the mail with all the latest color palettes, brushes, and tools. Playing with hair and makeup became her favorite arts and crafts activity and she loved watching her older sister and friends replicate movie star looks on each other during their sleepovers. By highschool, Marisa was a novice cosmetician, practicing mostly on herself and friends. She loved when her mom let her accompany her hair appointments, always wanting to know the ins and outs behind everything.
Factor is the family name taken from her mom’s side, and a nod to her great great grandfather, Max Factor. He was a pioneer in the beauty industry and someone Marisa absolutely idolizes and feels a deep connection to despite never having met.
“Being creative and artistically expressive is vital for me. My objective with my work is to cultivate a balance between beauty and obscurity.
I take a holistic approach to beauty, which is why I primarily work with Davines color and styling products. Their commitment to sustainability in our industry is huge for me!
With my clients, I make sure to maintain the integrity of their hair and skin while educating them on the importance of home care and how to recreate the looks like they love once they step out of the salon.”
